Objectives

The general objective is the internationalisation and openness to Europe of our VET students. One of the main needs that we wanted to satisfy with this project is that any student of our intermediate vocational training courses (FP Dual) who shows interest in learning in European work environments, can access the financed internships abroad. Today we have improved this aspect, as we are part of a consortium and we have also received the VET accreditation. We wanted to give our vocational students the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and skills by completing their work placement in another country, allowing them to internationalise and learn other ways of working, and we have more than achieved this goal.

Background

Our educational centre, the IES Santa María del Águila, is located in the municipality of El Ejido, where the main activity is intensive agriculture, which is the reason why different cycles of the professional branch of agriculture are taught in our centre. Many of the companies in the sector are European and with a lot of mobility among workers. IES Santa María del Águila is fully committed to educational innovation. We are currently working on improving the employability of our Vocational Training students, through greater contact with companies in the sector and implementing the Dual Vocational Training modality in all the training cycles of our centre. We believe that through the internationalisation of our centre and students we will go a step further and achieve excellently trained VET technicians with a broad business vision.
