Objectives

The Logroño City Council, in consortium with six Logroño highschools, requested the "Logroño-Europe IV" project, with the main objective of promoting the labor insertion of young local students and recent graduates of Intermediate VET courses. Once the consortium had identified the specific needs of young graduates in these courses, it intended with this project to improve their possibilities for personal development and their levels of employability in today's and future society. The participants in the project completed the process of acquiring quality training by carrying out effective and specialized professional practices in their professional fields. They have been given the opportunity to improve a second language with a stay and work experience abroad. Students were encouraged to develop entrepreneurial skills, autonomy, digital skills, a sense of responsibility and communication skills. In short, improve their professional skills to become more competitive when applying for a job. All of the above affects both the students involved and the city of Logroño, by contributing to the social and economic development of the area.

Background

The Logroño City Council (coordinator), together with six Vocational Training educational centers in its metropolitan area that teach Intermediate VET courses, set up a consortium to successfully manage and carry out the “Logro Europe IV” project. The execution of the project contributes to the aim of the City Council to position La Rioja and Logroño as a region and city active in quality training actions. The project is of great importance for the Logroño city Council and its partners, due to its potential impact on young people, as it pursues the idea of reducing the pressing needs of the young population of Logroño in terms of lack of experience and job opportunities. It offers complete professional training with the development of professional practices in different European cities. In this way, we encourage their employment and improve their personal development and employability levels. These results have a direct impact on the participant and indirectly on the city of Logroño and its immediate surroundings, by contributing to the social and economic development of the area of action. Likewise, we increase the visibility of European support to local entities.
