Objectives

Our main objective has been to provide our basic and intermediate vocational training students with concrete opportunities for the acquisition of skills through internships in a foreign country, which fosters their personal and professional development and their future employability. Furthermore, our intention has been to establish contacts with peer institutions in order to establish networks and exchanges of students within the same professional branches that we have in our institution.

Background

Our school, IES Granadilla de Abona, until the academic year 2020/2021 had experience with Erasmus+ mobilities for higher education. We decided to apply for mobility for our students of basic and/or intermediate studies to do their internships in another country, and thus give them the opportunity and work experience outside Spain. One of the objectives of our institution is to promote our internationalisation by participating in various Erasmus+ mobility projects for both teachers and students. As well as being in an outermost region, the school is characterised by being an area with low/middle income and high unemployment rates in the families of our students, so these mobilities and experiences in most cases provide a great opportunity to open borders, improve language skills and acquire diverse learning and additional training and internships in companies.
