Background

The European projects in which we have been participating meant a great revolution in terms of internationalisation, influencing positively both in our school community and in the perception of our school. New students enrolling in our school show a great interest in participating in our Erasmus+ programs because they are able to do their internships in a European country. An improvement in tuition has been detected since we are widely open and have broadened our European school contacts to contribute to our students’ European identity. Due to our results in these previous years, we needed to offer a wider range of mobility opportunities for our students and staff. VET students are in general characterised by lack of motivation, matureness and low job expectations, especially students who come from basic VET programs, due to their school profile. The participation in these European projects meant a total change in student’s motivation, attitude in class and aptitudes towards work as we consider these items very valuable when shortlisting them. In addition, we also give priority to students who come from disadvantaged social and economic backgrounds and Erasmus permits all students to have the same opportunities.
