The main goal was to give the possibility to VET students to be able to opt for mobility and, if they like the experience, to have the same possibility in Higher Education. In addition, students are encouraged to develop interculturality and coexistence by staying in shared flats with people from the host country and even from different countries, being able to resolve any conflicts that may arise, reach agreements, etc., thus promoting personal development. This personal development is fostered not only by sharing accommodation but also when they learn how to get around by themselves, going to the supermarket, getting a taxi, going to the doctor and asking questions or resolving them themselves when they go to the internship company. The feeling of belonging to a Europe without frontiers that shares services and is open to dialogue with its partners has also been promoted. On the other hand, the learning and/or improvement of languages is promoted since they not only improve their level of English but also learn the native language (Portuguese or Italian and their dialects).
The project was requested with great enthusiasm because after the success of KA103 projects of our High School in which higher technician students were already participating. Therefore, we wanted to offer the same possibility to students at a lower level, in this case, to VET students from the different professional families (manufacturing and assembly, IT and communications, socio-cultural and community services, health, transport and maintenance of vehicles, installation and maintenance and administration and management).
