Objectives

Regarding the European Dimension and Internationalisation: -Strengthen relations with non-formal education counterparts in Europe through jobshadowing mobility activities and courses. -Create a network of contacts for future European projects of schools in Extremadura and move towards international proposals of the new Erasmus 2021-2027 programme. -To seek the internationalisation of our own In-Service Teacher Training Centres, with the aim of being channellers and disseminators of European programmes. With regard to the field of updating methodologies in non-formal adult education: -To get to know other working approaches in the field of non-formal education in international environments, looking for innovative methodologies to improve the non-formal education of adult teachers in Extremadura. -To deepen in innovative methodologies of language learning and teaching that help teachers to contribute to the reduction of adults with low linguistic competences, thus improving their employability. -To optimise teacher training sessions and develop learning materials and tools for adult learners.

Background

After meetings held by advisors of five In-Service Teacher Training Centres of Extremadura (Spain)( (CPR de Badajoz, CPR de Cáceres, CPR de Mérida, CPR de Navalmoral de la Mata y CPR de Almendralejo) we detected the need to establish collaborative links at regional level that would produce aspects of improvement in all our institutions. Our main objective was to improve the training of adult education teachers in order to achieve the highest level of linguistic and pedagogical competences based on two main axes: the European dimension and the internationalisation of schools and the In-Service Teacher Training Centres, and the updating of methodologies and systems of organisation and management of non-formal adult education. Our experience as participants in a European project has improved the quality of our counselling on European programmes and has positively influenced their dissemination among the schools in our districts, broadening also our experience of non-formal adult education at European level, strengthening relations with non-formal education counterparts in Europe and having the opportunity to create contacts for future European projects among our schools.
