There were three fundamental objectives: 1- Acquire methodological strategies that encourage the participation and motivation of students in all areas of knowledge; 2- Continue to improve the digital competence of teachers to promote the application of activities in accordance with an active and participatory methodology; 3- Improve the English language skills of teachers to promote an interdisciplinary knowledge of this language in the classroom and the exchange of experiences with European centers that work with innovative teaching-learning methodologies. By achieving these objectives, together with the new ICTs acquired in the previous project, it will be easier for teachers to teach their subjects more dynamically, with more motivating methodologies so that students are more receptive to improve their knowledge, skills and social skills, and successfully achieve a continuity in their academic and/or work life. We know that the training can be acquired in Spain without having to go abroad, but the experience of the previous project was enough to know that the impact of doing it in another country is much greater for the entire educational community.
CEPA Orcasitas is located in one of the most disadvantaged districts of Madrid, with a high unemployment rate, low professional and academic qualifications and a high percentage of emigrant population. Our adult education center has a student body of very varied origins, with low cultural levels, little concern for learning -especially among the youngest, low self-esteem, bad study habits and a high level of absenteeism and school failure. With this student profile, motivation is important when teaching classes and straying from the canons of traditional teaching that hinders motivation and continuity in learning for our students. Teachers need to acquire methodological strategies to motivate our students, reduce the absenteeism rate and increase the number of secondary school qualifications, so important to be able to continue other academic studies or get a job. We believe that continuous teacher training is the key to offer quality teaching and to generate attitudes of academic and professional growth in teachers.
