Regarding the teachers: - Being aware of the European dimension of foreign languages teaching by assimilating different approaches developed in other cross-border centres. - Updating the teachers’ foreign languages skills. - Putting into practice dynamic tools and innovative methodologies applied to the foreign language teaching-learning process. Regarding the students: - Achieving the motivation that will allow them to successfully face the learning process. - Reducing absenteeism and student drop-out. - Achieving better academic results. Regarding our institution: - Networking with other cross-border centres. - Becoming a reference centre in our town in the field of foreign languages and serving as a link between the educational community and the rest of Europe. - Offering high-quality training through linguistically and methodologically up-to-date teaching staff. - Achieving a lower rate of absenteeism and student drop-out and a higher number of students enrolled in the centre.
This project is framed in the long-term work that our centre is carrying out to try to reduce absenteeism and student drop-out, a problem that all Official Language Schools in general and the EOI "Carlota Remfry" in particular are facing. The methodological and linguistic update of the teaching staff is essential to be able to offer more dynamic classes, catering for the diversity of the students and taking into account the different learning styles present in the classroom. Also, since our institution is devoted to teaching languages, our internationalisation must be a fundamental part of our essence.
