Objectives

"EOI LA LAGUNA: METHODOLOGICAL INNOVATION TOWARDS MULTILINGUALISM". Objectives: 1) Offer our teachers specific training on new pedagogical and methodological trends in language teaching in Europe: continuous training of participating teachers - the need for teachers who teach languages to update their linguistic competence. The opportunity to transfer European experiences to the classroom, contributing to the spread of plurality and multicultural acceptance. 2) Reduce absenteeism in our classrooms, in particular-non-compulsory education-, and in all language schools, in general. Participation in this project would help to reduce it. This was one of our lines of action in the following school years, collected in our Center Educational Project. Our students are adults with very diverse and specific needs; they need to receive training that excites them and makes them feel that they are learning a language. 3) Promote the internal training of the center. Cascade training helps the involvement in the project of each member of the educational community. 4) Establish synergies with other teachers for future collaborations in other projects.

Background

The EOI La Laguna has participated in the previous Erasmus calls: 1. 2014 call with the project called "NEW TIMES: EXPANDING HORIZONS IN THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOLS ''. 2. Call 2017 with the project called "LEARNING TO TEACH, TEACHING TO LEARN: THE EOI OF LA LAGUNA IN EUROPE''. These previous European projects have provided an evident improvement, not only in didactics and methodology , but also in linguistics, including management and operation in our institution. Once the dynamics of participation in European projects is entered, each center must make an effort to continue in them. The benefits for the center are indisputable. The internationalization of a center entails an improvement in its management, apart from the didactic and methodological improvement. Relations between staff are also strengthened, as teaching experiences are shared that have an impact on the daily life of our EOI.
