Objectives

The objectives set were reflected in the application as follows: 1. Related with the school: Make the school more European, give visibility to the school and personalize customer service. Establish contacts, close new agreements, publicize our school to receive teachers and students in practices, as well as know other educational centres to improve and personalize the attention to the student. 2. Related with the teaching staff: deepen our knowledge in methodological approaches, gain knowledge for a more positive, psychological and meaningful pedagogy and expand our didactic tools. 3. Related with the non-teaching staff: offer friendly, personalized and quality attention to the student. The job-shadowing by the management team would lead to an improvement in the customer service at the school. 4. Related with the students: promote memorable learning, increase motivation, increase performance and increase class attendance. The methodological update by the teaching staff was intended to have a positive impact on learning.

Background

We applied for this project as a complementary training strategy to our School Training Programme, in order to respond to a specific need that the teaching staff had detected: to achieve a more significant, efficient methodological approach that would put students at the centre of the teaching process with the ultimate goal of making learning memorable that would motivate students and make them prolong their studies at school. Likewise, we aimed to guarantee the quality and excellence of our teaching, promote the internationalization of our school, establishing connections with other educational centres and make our institution known in Europe. It is for this reason that a teacher mobility project was ideal. The formative objective of the teachers was intended to respond and solve the high rate of unattendance and dropout of students. The ultimate goal was to promote a more humanistic, meaningful and lasting teaching-learning process; otherwise, memorable, which would lead to increased student motivation, a promotion of autonomous work outside the classroom, a decrease in the rate of absenteeism and, consequently, an increase in performance.
