Background

The Institut d'Horticultura i Jardineria de Reus has considered from the beginning as a priority in its educational project the promotion of international relations as a pedagogical value that enables students and teachers to exchange experiences and knowledge that allow both at an individual level, as well as at the educational center as a whole, intercultural enrichment, interregional solidarity, improvement of linguistic competence in a foreign language and better understanding of the European reality and dimension. In today's globalized world, internationalization has gone from being just another strategic objective, to being a necessary element for the pedagogical, methodological and cultural enrichment of schools. As the data points out, many young Europeans – our current and future students – are going to have to face the challenge of working and living in other countries than their own, living with other cultural forms and developing part of their academic and work life in them, so internationalization is presented as a need to which our educational center wants to give a clear response through the development of projects like this one.
