Objectives

The main objective of our participation in this project is to continue working on the internationalization of IES La Flota, and to continue the projects that have already been carried out in our institute for more than a decade. On the one hand, the project, aimed at students in the 2nd year of Intermediate Training Cycles, has allowed them to carry out mobility for internships in European companies for 90 days, which can be validated with the "Training in Work Centers" module, an integral part of the cycle study plan, necessary to achieve the "Technician" degree. In addition, for the 3rd consecutive year, we have had Erasmus + mobilities in the field of staff, which has allowed them to broaden their knowledge of ways of working in the field of European companies and centers, thus enriching the productive function in the center and increasing its knowledge about the current processes in the productive sector. The development of this project raises other secondary objectives such as; achieve a better inclusion of the European dimension in the life of the educational center, its internationalization and the enrichment of the sense of community through knowledge of new realities and cultures of which the beneficiaries of the mobilities are the main recipients but also the community education and society through their dissemination. As the number of students and staff who are trained in European companies increases, the impact of this training on the members of the educational community of our center, and on society in general, is clear. On the one hand, the students of our center see their chances of employability increase by improving their linguistic, social and productive skills and receiving comprehensive training in a European productive environment. Many of them, after mobility, obtain a job in the center where they did it, remaining in the host country, in many cases, indefinitely. On the other hand, the staff of our institution acquires up-to-date training that allows them to learn about new and different forms of work that makes it easier for them to learn about the latest processes that have been incorporated into the productive sector in which they teach, which, in addition, will allow them to develop their teaching work according to a current productive reality. In addition to updating their professional skills, which allows them to carry out their teaching functions with greater competitiveness, the improvement in their linguistic and social skills that mobility brings them cannot be ignored. Carrying out these mobilities not only favors the beneficiaries of the same in a direct way, but also the rest of the members of the educational community who are made participants, through the established dissemination actions, the benefits of these training actions in Europe, thus allowing the knowledge acquired by the beneficiaries of the mobilities to be known by all. The rest of the staff of our institution will be impregnated with the knowledge acquired by their colleagues and will be able to apply it in their productive activity, and in addition, they will see the benefits that carrying out this type of mobility has for their work, encouraging them to carry out these training actions in the future. next. But not only them, the students, both real and potential, will be aware of the usefulness that training in Europe has for their professional and personal future, and the added value that it plays in their comprehensive training. Said added value is extensible to the teachings given in our institution, since to the training received in the educational center it is possible to add that received in the host institutions with which we work and that collaborate in a current, modern and complete training of our students. . The situation caused by Covid 19 put the planned mobilities of this project in check and caused the execution of 3 projects to coincide (2019, 2020 and 2021), which was finally corrected by requesting an extension in the duration of all the projects, allowing the realization of all of them. Regarding the mobility of personnel, the profile is clearly teaching staff of Training Cycles who see their training in Europe as a clear way to improve their knowledge about the production processes of companies in the business sector of the Training Cycles in which they have teaching attribution, expand their knowledge to improve their teaching function and fully and effectively develop the job in which they find themselves. A mobility of personnel, Job Shadowing, was carried out to Malta by María del Carmen Jiménez Cuello, professor of the Technical Vocational Training faculty of the specialty of Cuisine and Gastronomy, of the Professional Family of "Hospitality and Tourism". The duration of the mobility was 5 days and its objective was to learn about the operation of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Luga, The Institute of Tourism Studies as well as two companies in the city, a restaurant and a winery. As for the mobilities for student practices, these are aimed at students of the Intermediate Training Cycles that are taught at the center and that correspond to three different professional families: Administration and Management, Food Industries and Hospitality and Tourism. A total of 6 mobilities were registered to companies in France, Italy and Norway with a total duration of 90 days for each of them. The students belonged to the Cycles of Cooking and Gastronomy (4 students) and Restoration Services (2 students) of the Professional Family of Hospitality and Tourism. Regarding the profile of the participants of the student internship mobilities, they are students of Intermediate Training Cycles, in this case 2 women and 4 men with personal and professional concerns, and who see mobilities as an opportunity for the future. No student participating in the mobilities was Postgraduate All the students participating in the mobility were offered a job but only some of them accepted the offer and it was declined by others for wanting to continue with their academic training. The requested planning visit could not be carried out since the volume of mobilities that had been produced, as has already been explained, due to the accumulation of mobilities of the three projects that we had in progress prevented it from being carried out.

Background

This project was requested to continue with the internationalization of the IES La Flota, the staff and the students of the Intermediate Training Cycles that are taught in it. For more than a decade, the educational center has been carrying out different European projects that aim to facilitate the acquisition of professional, cultural and linguistic skills derived from the unique opportunity to train in European workplaces, and which represents added value for our institute, its entire educational community and the surrounding society. For years, and increasingly, the staff of our center has had the opportunity to train and update in European companies as well as our students of Intermediate Training Cycles who see how they can carry out their internship period in companies under the umbrella of a mobility scholarship for internships in companies. The training received by both allows them to acquire all the skills that they will later develop in their professional lives.
