Through this project, the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities intended to contribute to achieve the general objectives established in the framework of the Erasmus+ Program and in particular the following objectives that are framed within the Key Action 1 in the field of Vocational Training: - To increase participants' awareness and understanding of different cultures and countries, enabling them to establish international connections, actively participate in society and develop a sense of European identity. - Significantly improve participants' linguistic competence, facilitating international mobility and the establishment of links with other communities. - To help students improve their knowledge, skills and competencies in order to enhance their personal and professional development and improve their employability both in the European labor market and beyond. - To enhance the capabilities, attractiveness and global reach of our organization and our VET centers, strengthening our network of international contacts and promoting collaboration with other European institutions, schools and companies. - Enhance creativity and innovation, including entrepreneurship, at all levels of education and training. - Consolidate the mobilization of students from intermediate cycles in our network of VET centers. - To prevent early school dropout. - To make VET an attractive, relevant and excellent option. Therefore, this project pursues the internationalization of intermediate and basic vocational education and training and the excellence of our VET education system.
The Directorate General for Vocational Training of the Galician Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities, based in Santiago de Compostela, manages 230 educational centers with VET education and more than 1,200 educational centers in total throughout Galicia. The Service of Relation with the Productive System, Orientation and Labor Insertion is responsible for the promotion, coordination and management of European projects of Vocational Training in which Galician centers participate. When applying for this project our objective was to try to spread the European culture and to increase the scope of the Erasmus + program among the VET schools all over Galicia, trying to involve both VET teachers and students. It was also intended that management teams and teachers learn how to coordinate and manage Erasmus+ projects, acquiring the necessary knowledge to prepare and present in the future their own mobility projects or forming consortia with other centers in their geographical area or with those who share professional families. The mobility of students and staff of our schools is a key objective of the Galician VET, embodied in the Galician VET Strategy as one of its priority axes, which pursues the internationalization and exchange of experiences of Galician students and teachers to achieve excellence in Vocational Training.
