The growth of the construction sector will be strongly conditioned by the rehabilitation, especially energy rehabilitation, of existing buildings, so that new professionals in the sector will require a qualification adapted to the new "green competencies". The mobility of students in centers with expertise in this type of professional updating can bring a fundamental added value to the curriculum of the participants. On this basis, the "Build your Future" project is a European mobility program for training in Energy Rehabilitation that aims to build and strengthen a space for cooperation and integration that contributes to the overall development of vocational training in the sector and to the improvement of the key competences of the students participating in their training itineraries.
The economic recession has strongly affected the socioeconomic situation in Spain, and especially the construction sector, which has seen a drastic drop in activity and employment levels. This scenario sets the need to establish new actions to respond strategically, anticipating the formulation of renewed and appropriate responses to current and future challenges. Thus, it is necessary to bet on quality vocational training, adapting the training offer to sectorial trends and to the strategic objectives defined at the European level, through the development of new itineraries and the application of new teaching-learning methodologies. According to a study on the impact of Erasmus+ carried out by the European Commission, European vocational training participants who have completed an Erasmus+ mobility experience find jobs more easily than the rest of the group and, in addition, have a higher employability rate (81% vs. 68%), three years after the end of their stay.
