This project is one of the Erasmus+ programmes carried out for fifteen years, within the framework of the school's strategy for internationalization. The main objective is to offer our intermediate vocational training students, who normally have fewer opportunities, work placements in another country with a different language, so that they can improve their linguistic competence and professional skills in a real work context. Other objectives are for students to get to know a different culture and working environment, to acquire social skills by having to live with other students and to increase their personal autonomy. Regarding teachers, the main objective is to update their work and teaching practice, improve their linguistic competence and update their theoretical and practical knowledge in observation and training activities in host companies, which leads to learning about specific working procedures, contrasting them with ours and introducing improvements in their teaching activities. For the educational community, increasing interest in Erasmus+ mobility activities and their impact, maintaining and increasing contact with partner schools and host companies, and disseminating these actions at all possible levels.
Erasmus+ mobility actions, and specifically the VET mobility project Universidad Laboral de Toledo in Europe 2020, represent a key step for implementing and consolidating the internationalisation strategy of the school, in different levels: the whole institution, staff (teachers, management teams) and the students of intermediate vocational training, fostering their belonging to a multicultural European community, and focusing on improving, especially in students, their professional and linguistic competences as well as personal and social skills in a real working environment. In addition, with this project, the IES Universidad Laboral seeks to consolidate its network of contacts with educational centres and companies in other countries and disseminate these actions at all levels. 10 students and one teacher took part in mobilities.
