Specifically, the objectives are: 1. To offer Early Childhood and Primary Education university students specific training in teaching styles adapted to hybrid contemporary cultural contexts between art and education. 2. To influence lifelong learning by intersecting cultural agents and educators to develop a more holistic, inclusive, and participatory conceptual framework for artistic education. 3. To explore the potential of new training and teaching methodologies, such as peer learning. 4. To promote intercultural awareness through mobility and cooperation among partner institutions in different countries.

Background

The INTERSTICE project, "Encounters between Artists, Children, and Educators," was born with the aim of promoting inclusive and equitable access to high-quality art in schools. Access to culture is a universal right, yet many people face difficulties in accessing professional cultural experiences. In recent years, educational projects that incorporate professional artists in schools have multiplied. However, the incorporation of professional artists from the visual and performing arts fields in European education faculties is non-existent. Various scientific studies demonstrate that children who have access to culture come from medium to high socio-economic backgrounds, while families with fewer resources are often distanced from the arts. The need to bring art to schools is urgent so that all children can access and grow in creative educational environments that allow them to develop their subjectivities and critical thinking. To achieve this, the arts must be part of the initial teacher training, and for future educators to perceive art as an educational need to be considered in their professional careers.
