• In 2019, employment in the ICT and content sector in Spain grew by 7.3%, reaching 533,000 professionals. Among these, 35% were women and 65% men. However, female directors only represented 6% of this workforce. • • The Error404 project identified a significant "skill mismatch" in the industry, where the skills demanded by companies were not aligned with those available in the market. Bridging this skills gap was a crucial goal, particularly for women, who faced even greater challenges. • The global confinement due to Covid-19 emphasized the need for smart work solutions. The project aimed to ensure that disadvantaged groups, including women and those over 45, did not fall behind in the evolving socio-economic landscape. Error 404 Project Partnership • The partnership leveraged its expertise in adult education and training to provide an innovative, European-scale solution. We successfully conducted an intensive Bootcamp, covering website creation with WordPress, inbound marketing, cybersecurity, mindfulness, crowdfunding, copywriting, digital publishing, and creativity. This program was pivotal in grooming future women web coaches and ICT entrepreneurs. A comprehensive skills manual for female entrepreneurs in ICT was created. Aimed at trainers and educators, it provided tools and methodologies to boost women's participation in the digital industry. We established 5 Hubs across partner locations, offering hands-on experience with digital tools through non-formal education methods. These Hubs also hosted 7-day acceleration programs, helping women turn their business ideas into reality. Project Objectives and Achievements • -Successfully promoted new technology interest and skill-building among women facing social exclusion. • -Encouraged active skill and competence development. • -Advocated for conscious and correct use of new technologies. • -Enhanced the gender perspective in adult training centers. • -Significantly increased participation in digital content and tool usage. Quantitative Achievements • -Engaged over 250 adult students in the Bootcamp. • -Trained more than 100 adult educators during and after the project. • -Involved 100+ women from disadvantaged groups in Hubs, both in-person and online. • -Connected with 50+ public/private organizations for indirect project participation. • -Facilitated employment/internship opportunities for at least 10 women/trainers. • -Ensured 50% of participants were from disadvantaged backgrounds. • -Achieved a 20% increase in local student participation in partner-organized activities. • Participants gained valuable, innovative training experiences, meeting personal and professional needs with high-quality learning outcomes. • Trainers enhanced their ability to organize creative, inclusive training activities, boosting their initiative, responsibility, and empathy. • Partner organizations implemented more inclusive work methodologies, garnering greater local community recognition for their training programs.
The objectives of the project are: -Promote the motivation and development of new interests in women at risk of social exclusion (economic, geographical difficulties, refugees, first target group) to through the use of new technologies -Encourage the active participation of these target groups in building skills, knowledge and competencies -Promote a conscious and correct use of new technologies to develop new ways of learning and organizing knowledge. -Better use of digital content, as well as tools and methodologies, for learning and teaching -Learn to know what to do today to be ready tomorrow, when, otherwise, it will be too late to develop these skills. -Tear down cultural barriers and improve the sensitivity of women towards this sector -Provide adult training centers with a gender perspective that allows them to rethink their training approach and seek opportunities for a more egalitarian.
Employment in the ICT and Content sector in 2019 has grown by 7.3% to 533,000 professionals in Spain. Analyzing the data from the gender perspective, 35% of workers in this sector were women and 65% men, and female directors represent a devastating 6% compared to 94% men (ONTSI Annual Report 2019). New job opportunities that companies are unable to cover due to "skill mismatch", that is, the difference between the skills required by companies and those available on the market. Acquiring the necessary skills therefore becomes a fundamental task in order to successfully face the challenges of the future. And for a woman reading the data, the challenge is even greater. The period of global confinement due to the Covid-19 virus has shown that smart work is already a reality in our day to day and if we do not act quickly we run the risk of risk that a large part of the population (disadvantaged groups, over 45 years of age, women, people with some kind of disability) will become even more detached from the socioeconomic fabric European. The Error 404 project partnership, analyzing these needs, wanted to make a concrete contribution in this regard, using its experience in adult education and training to offer an innovative proposal with a European dimension. We wanted to bring women closer to the ICT sector by creating a Bootcamp (intensive course) where we included tools for creating a website with WordPress, techniques of inbound marketing, mindfulness, copywriting and creativity to create the future webcoah and ICT entrepreneur. We also want to create a skills manual for women entrepreneurs in ICTs (SMART BUSINESS WOMAN), aimed at trainers and educators so that they can obtain the tools and methodologies to promote the participation of women in the digital industry. We also created 5 Hubs (at each partner's headquarters) where women will be able to get to know digital tools in person and learn how to use them thanks to the use of non-formal education methodologies.
