In 2020, the “Coronavirus Outbreak” opened the past and future of educational systems, preparing us for digital transformation. Nevertheless, we cannot see an educational system without the presence of teachers: human-centered education. So, what is the difference between pioneering societies and lagging ones in education? Answer: ”The tools and methods used.” The most basic requirement of being a pioneer in education is the development, change and adaptation of the tools and methods used in accordance with the times. In this context, the main target group of our project has been the partner school teachers who have been involved in learning and teaching activities in the form of the exchange of good practices. These activities were planned both virtually and face-to-face and the participants received local and international training such as web tools, programming, coding, virtual reality. These activities have improved our skills to use educational technologies competently. Today’s students, the age group called Generation Z, easily adapt to technological developments; that’s why keeping up with technology has been so relevant for us participating teachers. Due to the Covid 19 outbreak, face-to-face education could not be carried out, increasing the importance of education at a distance as well as the quality of education. Project activities focused on using web 2 technologies, robotic coding, distance education tools, virtual and artificial reality and their implementation. Teachers from each partner school joined the project learning-teaching activities whereas students were not planned to take part in mobilities abroad due to Covid 19 pandemic, but they did at a local level. Transnational project activities enabled wider audiences to benefit from the project results by globalizing the project. To sum up, the main goal of our project was to ensure that training, teaching and learning activities are carried out efficiently in conditions where face-to-face training is not possible. The development of the project has meant, means and will mean an added value to education.
To acquire, update and improve competences with regard to teaching methodology using web programmes and applications, virtual reality, augmented reality, robotic coding. Create a teaching-learning environment adapted to the different situations of face-to-face, blended, distance, synchronous, asynchronous and asynchronous education. To achieve quality teaching and good practices in situations where face-to-face teaching was not possible.Establish relations with other European countries. To promote the use of languages.
The initial idea came from the Turkish partners, who proposed us as coordinators to this project on New Technologies in which both teachers and students would improve their digital skills. The need for the widespread use of ICT in education and specifically among the partners involved arose during the Covid-19 confinement and the shortcomings that had been identified in the delivery of non-face-to-face education while maintaining quality in the teaching-learning process.
