What do you want to achieve by implementing the project? We want to carry out this project to involve young Romani people in their societies, communities and environments. To activate them within the field of youth work and human rights and invite them to challenge their limits and the situations they face on a daily basis. We want that after the project Romani youth from the participating countries experiment a energetic drive for change, hope and resistance against injustice, racism and ignorance. . We aim to basically impact the young participants in 3 ways: -Increase their Human rights and law literacy( building knowledge on their rights, and the reality of discrimination and how to challenge stereotypes) -Use art as a tool to facilitate the expression of social issues( providing with the tools of theater, Flamenco and music, new opportunities for the young Roma to express themselves, communicate their struggle, ideas and interests) -Invite young people to participate in youth activities, clubs, associations and use the available tools at their hand, including the program erasmus plus and other European platforms to invite them to actively join civil society in defense of their rights. To challenge them to self-organize, mobilize and build trust in the spirit of dialogue and mutual respect. What are the objectives of your project? -Create possibilities for participants to learn about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the historical and political context (mechanisms and reasons) leading to it, as well as the consequences for today; Develop critical thinking and reflection in understanding and analyzing the impact and use of human rights for Romani People. -Familiarize the participants with the concept of legal literacy (to know your own rights!) and its relevance and role in addressing contemporary antigypsyism hate crime and hate speech; strengthen dignity, solidarity and empathy of and with people who suffer racism, discrimination and any form of injustice. -Promote the visibility of Roma youth active citizenship to combat hate speech, racism and xenophobia, in order to create opportunities of dialogue between young people. -Use art as a tool to facilitate the expression of social issues( providing with the tools of theater, Flamenco and music, new opportunities for the young people to express themselves, communicate their struggle, ideas and interests) -To encourage creativity, non linear thought, non formal education and dynamic tools for youth engagement -To discuss the roles, responsibilities and opportunities of youth in addressing current challenges of racism, discrimination and antigypsyism in order to become agents of change; To build motivation, capacity, and empowerment of young people and youth organizations to engage in local, national and international youth work on issues of human rights and combating antigypsyism. -To raise the participation of young Roma in different EU programs such as Erasmus+ strengthening their European citizenship, foreign language skills, intercultural competences and sense for initiative and entrepreneurship.
