Society has changed and with it, the leisure of children and young people. That is why the Salero de Ideas is concerned with proposing active and participatory leisure as an alternative to digital consumption and the dangers to which it is associated, such as new digital addictions, the so-called “drug-free addictions”, related to sports ( bets and videogames) or not related to sports (social networks, pornography, chats). PROBLEM / NEED In recent years, special attention is being paid and we are seeing more and more concepts such as: - Additions 3.0, addictions; - Nomophobia (panic to be without mobile). The FOMO (acronym for ‘fear of missing out’ is the fear of missing out on social media); - The syndrome of the imaginary call or message (occurs when we think we hear a message signal) Like any other type of addiction, 3.0 can cause anxious states, headaches and stomach aches, as well as tachycardia, negative thoughts and other negative consequences such as dropping out of school, losing jobs, friends, or abandonment. This problem is already picked up by the WHO (World Health Organization) According to the data handled by the Government, 18% of Spanish youth between 14 and 17 years of age make compulsive use of the Internet, which is associated with an increase in school failure and drug use. One of the most worrisome facts is that 1 in 10 minors recognizes having played money online. 45% of young people consider themselves addicted to mobile phones, but they are not worried or do not think it is a problem. If we ask any young person, would you tell us that drugs are a big problem, but would you tell us the same about these addictions? This is the real problem, that young people are not aware of gravity. Despite having approved the plan (2017-2024) from the ministry, only Madrid has created a specialized intervention service for addictions to new technologies for young people between 12 and 17 years old. SOLUTION / OBJECTIVES The OBJECTIVES of this project are: - Promote healthy leisure and physical activity as a stimulus, alternative and a priority option for young people, as an alternative to an excessive and compulsive use of technologies. - Prevent new additions such as betting, videogames, compulsive use of mobiles and social networks and consumption of pornography and forums and social chats. And know how to use all these elements with total security. - Identify the symptoms of a young addict. Well to know if the young person is at risk or so that they can recognize others and know the action protocols if necessary. And there are more and more applications, digital tools, etc., but there is no more information, prevention and security in this regard. LINK OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ERASMUS + PROGRAM WITH THE “DIGITAL ADDICTIONS 1.0” PROJECT. The objectives of the project are directly related to the objectives of the European Commission: - The overall objectives of the renewed Framework for European cooperation in the field of youth; - The objective of the development of the European dimension in sport, in particular grassroots sport, in line with the Work Plan of the Union for Sport. And more specifically, the relationship with these types of projects: - Support students in the acquisition of learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competencies) with a view to improving their personal development, their participation as active citizens in society and their employability. - Increase the capacities, attractiveness and international dimension of organizations active in the fields of education, training and youth. - Increase awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries in the participants. ACTIONS TO COMPLY WITH THE OBJECTIVES 1. Limit the use of devices and the hours of use of the computer. 2. Foster the relationship with other people. 3. Promote other types of hobbies such as reading, cinema, sports, other activities 4. Develop group activities, such as those related to volunteering. We in this project will address guidelines 2, 3 and 4. We are fortunate to have already carried out projects with almost all partner organizations, which allows us to plan and execute the project in a somewhat different way than we have done other times. In this case, from the planning we have distributed among the participants more responsibilities and tasks. During the project we will combine sports and awareness activities towards new addictions, which allows us to develop an innovative project that young people and partner organizations can transfer to their environments, thus multiplying the impact of the results.
