Objectives

The earth is warming up rapidly in recent times due to pollution, major natural disasters and sudden changes in temperature are taking place. Weather patterns are becoming much more extreme and global concern is brewing. The United Nations warns that the damage and crises caused by climate change could seriously affect the planet in the year 2040; Since large amounts of pollutants are creating many harmful gases that seriously alter the terrestrial ecosystem, producing heat waves, melting glaciers, droughts, tidal waves, tropical storms, floods, etc. This is a phenomenon that can become irreparable and whose only culprit is the human being himself. That is why we must take this situation seriously and try to reverse it. The project "Awareness and Sensitization on Climate Change and Consequences" has wanted to be one more means of raising awareness and visibility within youth, youth workers, organizations (public and private), those responsible for environmental policies, etc. . The project consisted of two activities: a Training Course and a Youth Exchange 1st TRAINING COURSE (activity carried out from February 24 to March 1, 2022 with a total of 22 youth workers 2nd YOUTH EXCHANGE: activity carried out from June 22-28, 2022 with a total of 46 participants. MAIN OBJECTIVE: To raise awareness among young people, youth workers, those responsible for all the countries of the world and the rest of the population that there is only one absolutely irreplaceable planet and that we should all adopt urgent measures and possible solutions that contribute to avoiding a global environmental catastrophe. . SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: -Know the consequences of global warming Promote innovative pedagogical methods through non-formal education that allow respect for the ecosystem. -Make visible the prevention measures and efforts of the European Commission that it carries out with the environment through the Erasmus+ program and that serve as a multiplier effect. -Instill from a very early age the importance of implementing the rule of the three Rs: Reduce, Recycle and Reuse, adopting a sustainable way of life and respect for the environment -Promote experiences of good practices and exchange of knowledge, values and initiatives at the local, national and international level. The two activities were carried out consecutively in time and in the "Tartesos" apartments in Las Rozas. It lasted longer due to the isolation situation by Covid-19. It was attended by different organizations from Turkey, Italy, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Cyprus and Spain (Germany could not attend because the change was requested and it was granted due to the large increase in Covid-19 infections that occurred and that could not leave the country). The two activities passed satisfactorily due to the prevention efforts of all the partner organizations, the anti-Covid-19 measures of the hotel itself and the responsibility of all the participants. All the participants were able to return to their countries of origin without problems despite all the uncertainty of the moment. In both activities, methods of formal education have been used through the teaching of cascading didactic learning with theoretical-practical activities with a mixture of theoretical content, practical exercises, evaluations, group dynamics and program design. The language used mainly has been English. The activities focused on the analysis of different areas that mainly cover the causes that are producing climate change, its consequences and possible solutions. Climate Change is one of the biggest problems of our time and it is very important to adopt a more sustainable way of life in order to conserve the planet for future generations. We must join forces and work for a common vision, exchanging information to raise awareness among the entire population by adopting urgent measures.
