Objectives

STAY RURAL is a project that wants to promote a reflection on the exodus from rural areas to urban areas, particularly for young people. We want to foster a debate about the different lifestyles active in the rural environment. The objective is to increase the elements and tools that rural youth have when making a more conscious decision so that leaving their environment is not a must. We want to promote the knowledge of the weak points and the strong points of the rural and urban areas with the objective of increasing in the young people their capacities and competences about their environment. The objectives of the project are: - Promote inclusion through common activities that focus on motivation rather than differences; - Encourage young people to create links between urban and rural areas; - Develop skills among youth as future youth workers and develop key skills: social and civic skills, language skills and creativity; - Increase awareness of rural youth about respecting themselves, encouraging their active participation in their local communities; - Increase opportunities and possibilities for young people to remain in their local communities; - Breaking the stereotypes that exist about “field” people, a problem we share among all project partners; - Promote comparative and reflective capacity between how we feel in the rural and urban environment, what positive and negative elements appear to us. Raise awareness about the problems that people and in particular young people have; - Promote the use of ecological practices; - Support rural diversification, including diversification in agricultural exploitation towards non-agricultural activities and other non-primary production activities.
