The group of young people that has prepared this project in collaboration with Youropía has been working together since 2018, year in which from Youropía we organized the youth exchange “BEaST” with the purpose of bringing mobility to a group of young people with fewer opportunities, offering them a non-formal learning opportunity and facing new challenges, as we recognized that nowadays, young Europeans have reduced moments of socialization and most of their communications and relationships are done virtually. Throughout these years the group has increased their skills and autonomy to the point of having organized "ECOCHANGE", based entirely on their interests, addressing a topic that interests them a lot and in which they are quite involved for the that they have had the support of the entity since, as is logical, they do not have all the necessary knowledge in some things. The main objective of the project has been to reinforce the process of awareness, sensitization and involvement towards environmental issues. The specific objectives set for the project were: - Offer non-formal learning opportunities to young people with fewer opportunities. - Promote social development and the creation of positive and healthy personal relationships. - Become familiar with some aspects of the 2030 agenda (Sustainable Development Goals directly related to the environment). - Develop communication skills in a foreign language. - Raise awareness of the reality of a diverse Europe in the face of issues of global interest The project was developed in Mieres with the participation of 16 young people (aged between 18 and 20 years) at risk of social exclusion and 5 youth workers from the countries represented. Outdoor activities have been carried out with different approaches (teamwork, self-improvement, confidence, respect for the environment, etc.), sessions on environmental issues, recycling workshops, cultural sessions organized by each country, intercultural cooking workshops, cultural visits and international evenings. In order to value the learning dimension of this experience, evaluation and reflection sessions, debates and working groups were held. The activity was carried out at the Bustiello youth hostel, in Mieres. With regard to COVID-19, protocols have been established to minimize the risks of contagion and the current law and the rules of the shelter have been respected at all times.
