The main aim of the project was to offer a space for dialogue, reflection and exchange between young people from different European organisations (and one from the Mediterranean arc) in the field of non-formal education. With this exchange we wanted to explore, think and create ways to promote democratic participation in youth organisations; to reflect on how we do politics in the field of education and the values that are transmitted. Another of the fundamental objectives for us was to empower the young participants to be agents of change and transmitters of the values of solidarity, equality, respect and critical spirit. On the other hand, the exchange took place at the same place and time with a training for youth leaders in the field of youth work; although these two groups were independent, we wanted to promote intercultural coexistence and awareness in order to reach more young people and have a greater impact with our project. The objectives of the project, therefore, were aimed at responding to the needs raised in the different non-formal education organisations that were part of the partnership: - To become more aware of the interests and concerns of young people. - To promote ways for real participation so that young people can express themselves and be heard. - To understand education as a political act of emancipation. - To make youth organisations spaces for true democratic and inclusive coexistence. - To share an intercultural environment, with diverse socio-economic or geographical realities, in order to counteract the rise of xenophobic and racist discourses.
