Objectives

In the last decades, the number of weekly hours dedicated to activity and physical exercise has decreased, as well as a loss of basics of the Mediterranean diet, such as the high consumption of vegetables, fruits, legumes, etc. and an excessive increase in the consumption of ultra-processed foods. At the same time, a large number of myths emerge about healthy habits and eating, which, far from giving information and options to young people so that they can decide for themselves, it causes noise and confusion. This fact is becoming quite common in Europe. We live in the time of greatest abundance in history, both material and possibilities and interesting things to do, and not being able to enjoy all of them creates and maintains a state of anxiety. In addition, there are greater job insecurities among youth and by not having a clear traditional reference, situations such as not having time to sit down to eat or having to eat precooked food every day are becoming more natural. In this way, the harmful effects of these unhealthy lifestyles are accentuated, which mix a sedentary lifestyle, stress and poor diet, since these habits begin to be followed at younger ages and are the focus of the media bombardment of many advertisements and products that are worse for health. It is necessary to act accordingly, putting the individual at the centre of our priorities, taking into account the great influence of the socio-economic context and presenting valuable propositions that will have a positive impact on the habits and health (physical and mental) of youth. It must be taken into account that this situation becomes more complex when we add the gender perspective, since there is much more pressure on how the woman's body should be, and of course, the sports offer is directed mainly toward a male audience. Healthy habits, in addition to generating immediate well-being for the individual, are the basic tool for preventing the diseases that currently cause the most mortality and morbidity: diseases of abundance or preventable diseases, which are generated directly from lifestyle. In this project we have put the individual and his habits at the center, preventing us from creating more pressure or blaming them, contextualizing the socioeconomic situation and influence. In addition, we have facilitated direct contact with innovative initiatives with proven performance and we have created a reflection on the customs of their places of origin, to promote possible cooperation and inspire possible new ideas or methodologies. We have based our idea on non-formal education and the promotion of a context that has facilitated the practice of physical exercise, avoided stress and provided the necessary space to eat properly. Always taking into account the three fundamental pillars: nutrition, mental health and activity and physical exercise. The objectives of the project have been that the participants are capable of differentiating truthful information related to nutrition and healthy habits, know sources of reliable information, generate projects and tables of information related to healthy habits, nutrition and sports, promote habits of healthy life and the results of this project, obtain the necessary tools to create projects that facilitate healthy habits, generate activities aimed at youth to create healthy habits, understand the social factors that influence a healthy lifestyle, learn the factors that they favor adherence to a healthy lifestyle, analyze the variables that are related to stress and the creation of a network between our organization and that of the associated organizations on this specific topic.
