Objectives

The motivation of this project was to introduce the methodological tools of the contemporary dance technique "contact improvisation" as a context for development in the socio-affective field, to address in particular the development of inclusion and respect for diversity. To achieve this general objective, we enrich this approach with the introduction of other tools such as the ethics of care, the culture of consent, group facilitation and non-violent communication. The specific objectives of the project were: + Introduce Contact Improvisation and its philosophy as an innovative methodology with wide potential, both in the social, pedagogical or artistic level. + Explore Contact Improvisation as an inclusive dance, appropriate for all bodies regardless of their differences, practiced in a welcoming environment where there is no room for judgment. Recognize the potential for group cohesion, integration and harmony that is generated from a space of dance and free movement in contact with other people. + Discover the physical, psychological and emotional benefits of human contact. Therefore, promote sensitivity, care and connection with one's own body and with that of others + Point out ways, practices and methods that allow to increase empathic and listening capacity, with special attention to the borders between the intimate, the personal, the group and the social sphere. + Promote diversity and intercultural dialogue among young people. + Experiment with participatory methodologies of collective learning, which enable the empowerment of young people and benefit the most of the diversity of a group. + Invite to critically rethink about the way we relate to people in our day-to-day lives. The project has been linked to the objectives of the Erasmus + program and the specific key action insofar as: + Includes young people with difficulties + Promotes diversity and inclusion, as well as the values of respect and freedom More specifically, the project aimed to promote the development of certain key competencies through specific approaches: + In a context of improvisational dance in close interaction with other people, enhance creativity, self-esteem, assertiveness, negotiation skills, collaboration, risk-taking, or conflict resolution; among other. + Using a non-verbal communication language for the practice of dance, overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers to communicate and relate from a shared common language. + Thanks to the fact that the dance technique is not a style dance, it does not pursue a specific form, nor does it need a technique or capacity, or a physical form, nor is it a dance to be shown, this generates an inclusive environment where all people participate in fairness. + Through contact as a central element, develop a healthy socio-affectivity, generating greater self-esteem and acceptance in the personal sphere, and a greater capacity for empathy and respect for others in the social sphere. + The use of artistic physical expression of group contact dances, as a means to generate group cohesion, a sense of belonging, affinity, mutual support, and trust. + The somatic, experiential, reflective and meditative approach to the practice of this dance style, to integrate all these experiences at the mental, emotional and physical level, and contribute to the development of a more balanced consciousness. With this, achieve greater health, and a greater capacity to care for personal integrity at these three levels, and that of others. In a parallel and transversal way, the objectives of this project were also the strengthening of collaboration networks with the other actors involved, the consolidation of the capacity to develop similar projects for all the project partners, and to raise awareness and show the target groups about innovative pedagogical methodologies to deal with youth issues, and the tools and resources offered by the Erasmus + program for this purpose.
