Objectives

Youth work (as well as other similar practices of the social field such as social work, social integration, social education or leisure and free time) is mostly done with groups with more or fewer needs. Many times, professionals face these groups without adequate preparation or knowledge of tools starting from emotional management, to self-awareness and the ability to tab into the shared humanity which we are familiar with from daily life.. Therefore in TOFFY, we want to focus on this basic human connection which education so often neglects.. It is undeniable, we all lack skills and approaches to face groupwork taking into account the needs of our youth and ourselves. TOFFY is a training course for youth workers who need to improve their facilitation skills and discover new tools that will allow them to improve working with groups. The course will be organized around four fundamental pillars: - Working with groups: Introduction of key concepts such as roles, leadership, communication, conflict prevention and management, emotional management, etc. - Facilitation Tools and Techniques - The Theater as a tool The general flow of the training includes: - EXPERIENCE different educational spaces and methods. - REFLECT on the methods and their impact on pedagogical processes. - SHARE experiences, perspectives and assumptions; - TRANSFER what has been learned to the realities of the participants to improve their way of working with young people. Related to these needs, the main objective is to acquire facilitation skills and discover new tools for working with groups (like body expression and theatre) with the idea of increasing group cohesion, individual motivation and bonding; improve relationships and collaborative work learning from differences; facilitate a horizontal and participatory way of working by effectively managing leadership, roles and ranks; prevent and manage conflicts constructively; promote effective meetings and joint decision making; communicate and listen actively, from empathy and taking into account differences and individualities; manage emotions by creating stable and strong structures in the group.
