From the Maracena City Council, we detected a serious problem in a previous activity in the way in which the youngest use social networks. We believe that social networks are a fundamental tool today, they can be used in countless ways, from their conventional use, which is undoubtedly to connect people, to the new applications that are given to them as more and more modalities emerge. of these, such as finding a job or a partner. However, social networks can be counterproductive for their users if they are not used responsibly and according to their purposes. This negative aspect of the use of social networks materializes in issues such as imprudence regarding the use of personal information due to ignorance of data protection policies, sexting (sending images with high sexual content by telephone), virtual bullying, lack of protection against cyber attacks such as fishing (Attacks that seek user information, such as bank details with the intention of being stolen) among a long, etc. This misuse of social networks can cause the commission of crimes and a victim of them, in addition to serious psychological consequences derived from them. After detecting several cases of misuse of social networks among the young people participating in our activities (some of them, unfortunately, ended up in situations described in the previous paragraph) we saw how there was an urgent need to educate the youngest to prevent these situations, and at their empower them so that they know how to get the most out of these tools without taking any risk. Therefore, and as a consequence of the problems exposed above, the objectives that we wanted to address through the implementation of this project were the following: - Examine and show in-depth to all the participants the possible damages that the misuse of social networks can cause, being able to go to the extreme of committing a crime or being a victim of it. The intention is to make participants aware that the risk is real and that we can fall into one of these misuses very often during our daily routine. - Carry out a forum/debate with the participants, examining experiences, opinions, and knowledge regarding social networks, with the aim of sharing good uses of these, discovering new practical utilities that they may have, and also analyzing prevention techniques based on a methodology of the experience. - Make professionals aware that during the technological revolution that we are experiencing, the structural roles of society and relationships between people are changing due to new technologies and prevent them from the risks and negative aspects that this implies. (These ideas will be explained later in the sections referring to project activities). -Sex education. Show youth workers the risks involved in certain social networks dedicated to finding a partner, or techniques such as sexting so that they in turn teach young people to participate in their activities - Teach professionals how to use social networks for work purposes. For this, the participants themselves, after having received the appropriate information, will manage profiles on different social networks during the exchange, created exclusively for the project. Thus, participants will learn social network management and community management skills that will be useful for their working life. - We will analyze how social networks have contributed to globalization and to the formation of more and more interpersonal and inter-organizational links. For this, we will exchange cultures and experiences among the participating groups and we will promote responsible and sustainable European citizenship in terms of the use of new technologies.
