Project summary

COVID19 has been a great tragedy on many levels in our lives and has led to many changes, but especially negative has been the impact on the structures of youth participation. Fortunately, young people have found ways how to reinvent themselves and take advantage of art and creativity to redirect their actions (political, cultural, leisure, etc.) and this is where our project has its core: the analysis of the impact of COVID19 on participation and youth associations and solutions (good practices) based on artistic and creative tools that have been developed to improve the situation. During 24 months we will cooperate a group of 4 entities from the YOUTH field interested in creativity and culture and 2 organisations from the ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL field interested in youth. A total of 6 entities from 4 different countries (ES, LV, HR, CZ). The first part of the project will focus on finding and compiling good practices and the second will focus on testing some of them and planning some future actions.

Objectives

1. Analyze the impact that COVID19 is having on youth participation and youth associations 2. Search and share good ideas based on art and creativity for the reactivation and adaptation of participation and associationism to this new reality COVID19 3. Improve the quality of youth participation systems in our environments through the use of artistic and creative tools 4. Get the young people from the municipalities that participate in the project to develop a transnational youth initiative project that gives continuity to this project

Background

COVID19 has hit our daily lives in many ways. Human relationships, the priorities of our life, our leisure activities and free time, everything is changing and readjusting. And in this context, youth participation and educational leisure, which were already a complicated issue before the pandemic, are much more so now. The restrictions on social life and collective activities are causing youth associations and participation to drop to a minimum (in favor of collective health) and the impact it has on society in general is something we want to find out. In addition, we have seen these months ago that creativity and art in general have been an excellent tool to activate and motivate youth. This project addresses the needs of the organizations that present it, concerned about the reactivation of youth participation by applying the most appropriate creative and artistic tools. All the entities agree that the impact of COVID on the participation of young people in activities is being very great and we need to reinvent ourselves and learn from each other.
