The ART 4 INCLUSION project (A4I) is being developed in the midst of a situation that is challenging the European Union today: the pandemic caused by the COVID-19. Many social sectors are being affected by the impact it is having on social activity in general and on artistic and cultural activity in particular. In addition, the challenges already faced by the EU with regard to the effective inclusion and employability of young migrants are becoming more acute, in view of the increase in social emergency situations. In the face of these problems, art can be a tool for the expression and communication of individual feelings and social problems, to promote empowerment, dialogue and inclusion. Likewise, the richness of artistic disciplines must be put to use more than ever, and the public and institutions must be made aware of their importance in social life. In this sense, the A4I project arises with the aim of promoting social and labour inclusion of young migrants and minorities (JMM) through art, to respond to the situation generated by the COVID-19. In order to achieve this objective, the following specific objectives have been set O.E.1) To promote the social inclusion of young migrants and minorities (JMM), through culture and art. O.E.2) To promote the employability of young artistic professionals who have been affected by the situation arising from the COVID19. O.E.3) To promote the participation of young migrants and minorities through culture and art. O.E.4) To raise awareness among the general public of the importance of art and culture in the processes of social and economic development in the European Union. Through the A4I project, it is planned to attend directly to 108 people. The beneficiary populations will be: - 80 young migrants and minorities (JMM) between 16 and 30 years old. - 28 professionals from the artistic field, with previous training and experience in social inclusion from JMM. Likewise, the aim is to reach 130 people through the multiplier events and at least 1,500 people through the different dissemination tools, thus achieving a much greater impact of the project. To achieve the proposed objectives, Solidaridad Sin Fronteras, Epeka Slovenia, Epeka Berlin and Cinematek will develop two Intellectual Results over 20 months: 1) "ART 4 INCLUSION" GUIDE TO SOCIAL PARTICIPATION THROUGH ART FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. This Result will be a guide of activities to promote participation and social inclusion of JMM through dance, music, circus, theatre and cinema. This guide will contain fundamental elements adapted to the young population, with activities and educational resources useful during the process of integration and social inclusion in their community. 2) E-ARTISTIC AREA. This is a web platform aimed at the JMM population (16-30 years old) and youth professionals. It will contain two main sections: E-LEARNING AREA, that the different activities developed in the framework of the Intellectual Result 1 (A4I Guide); and the PARTICIPATION AREA, an innovative section that will allow the beneficiaries of the project to participate directly in the different activities developed in the framework of the project. In turn, it will have two parts: YOUTH AREA, where the JMMs will create contents about the Guide (RI1) through video-tutorials; and the ARTISTIC CAMPAIGN, where, through awareness raising by means of documentary videos, the participating professionals in the artistic field will be able to share information related to their professional field, the benefits it generates for young migrants and minorities, as well as the consequences that the health crisis generated by the COVID19 has had on their professional sector. An innovative methodology will be used, making use of NICTs as a fundamental tool for accessing the young population, and encouraging their participation and contribution during the development of the project materials. Learning, teaching and training activities and two national pilot phases will be carried out to ensure the quality of the results and their adaptation to the real needs of the beneficiary groups. It is expected that the innovative products and methodologies developed in the A4I project can be positively recognised, used and adapted by professionals in the artistic field working with JMM, as well as by professionals working with this group in the European Union. It is expected that these products and methodologies can be applied both in the daily work of social entities, public administrations, private companies and other entities related to art and social inclusion, as well as by the general population, in an autonomous way.
Through the project, the partnership aimed to: -Promote the social inclusion of young people of migrant origin through circus, dance, music, theater and cinema. -Promote the participation of migrant youth, and their empowerment, achieving the attainment of their effective social inclusion through artistic methodologies. -To sensitize the general population on the importance of dance, music, cinema, theater and circus for the promotion of social inclusion of migrant youth. -To sensitize the general population on the consequences of COVID-19 in the world of art and culture.
SSF submitted a project application to seek innovative methodologies and measures to promote the social inclusion of young migrants residing in the EU, and specifically in the Community of Madrid. The aim was to find innovative activities, methodologies and tools to develop the competencies, knowledge and skills of this group, for their effective social inclusion. In this sense, it formed a partnership that pursued the same objectives, and was interested in applying innovative methodologies based on art, in order to promote the social accompaniment of young people who meet this profile in Europe, to optimize the process of social inclusion of the group. Although all the entities had previously carried out similar interventions, they had never had the option of having material that would work as a methodological guide, or digital resources to improve their daily intervention with young people, through music, dance, film, theater or circus. In this sense, ART 4 INCLUSION was born, as an innovative response, in which not only SSF participates, but also entities from Slovenia (EPEKA Sl), Germany (EPEKA Berlin) and Greece (CINEMATEK).
