The project had four objectives: 1) The widespread implementation of the comprehensive competence framework of the new uppersecondary school curriculum in subjects and the school's operational culture. 2) Creating cross-disciplinary courses in accordance with the new curriculum's modular approach. 3) Enhancing the physical and mental well-being of students and staff in their daily lives in school. 4) Strengthening and ensuring the continuity of the school's international activities.
We wanted to develop our school to align with the new upper secondary school curriculum that was introduced in 2021. A significant aspect is the comprehensive competence framework, which forms the common goals of school subjects. These competences include well-being, interaction, multidisciplinary and creative, societal, ethics and environmental, as well as global and cultural competence. We wanted knowledge and expertise to implement this. Our goal is for the components of this framework to be incorporated into the local curriculum and teaching, suited to each subject's perspective and appropriate to the field of study. Additionally, we wanted cross-disciplinary courses in line with the modular curriculum approach, which is based on comprehensive competence. Our aim is to support students' general education and readiness for further studies and the workforce. We sought tools for constructing the content of these courses and aimed to diversify the course offerings to maintain the attractiveness of the high school. Furthermore, we wanted to continue strengthening the profile of our international activities.
