Objectives

We want to gain interest in internationality and international projects, as well as get the young people of our school involved through the project's activities. One of the goals is to increase understanding of the importance of language study and how important it is to act in international cooperation, being encouraging examples. International activities are also seen as enriching everyday school life, and doing something related to the project is an important way to feel part of Europe. In addition, we want to increase well-being and social equality in our school. We want to increase students' attachment to school in a positive way, and we believe that school fun and students' experience of participation and participation opportunities prevent absences and school dropouts, as well as reduce violence and threatening situations.

Background

For years, the number of foreign language students in our school and in our city has been drastically decreasing. We are concerned about this trend and want to encourage students to study languages other than English and to understand the importance of language study. We also wanted to increase awareness and increase opportunities to get to know foreign languages and cultures. There are many students in our school who suffer from depression and anxiety and have already been partially excluded from society as teenagers. Just coming to school is difficult for more and more people. On the other hand, threatening and violent situations frighten students. We wanted to find more ways to connect with the school and class community and increase well-being in the school, both for students and teachers. On the other hand, some of our students are extremely stressed and anxious about school and postgraduate studies, or even about their own place in society. Our school is located in an area of positive discrimination, so any activity that increases community is important to us. Our young people also need perspectives on what is in the world outside their own district.
