Objectives

The aim of the project was to develop the guidance and assessment skills of teachers, on-the-job learning supervisors and workplace supervisors in international work placements. The aim of the project was also to train foreign workplace supervisors so that their guidance and assessment skills meet the requirements of the Vocational Education Act, regulations and study unit criteria. We wanted to increase student and staff mobilities and enable internationalization for all. We wanted to increase flexibility and offer mobilities of different length to the students throughout the calendar year, and in particular during the summer. This enables faster graduation for the student.

Background

According to the internationalization strategy of Perho Culinary, Tourism and Business College, we wanted to increase the number of mobilities and offer mobilities to all staff and students. It has been noted that guidance and assessment in foreign workplaces requires development. There was a need to improve the quality of guidance and assessment and to train the workplace supervisors as well as the Finnish on-the-job learning supervisors’ guidance skills.
