Objectives

The goal of the Job Shadowing mobilities in this project was to enhance the professional expertise of our staff concerning guidance and learning processes for adults requiring special support. Specific areas of interest related to learning were: - Lowering the barriers to education and providing support for adults facing challenging circumstances at various educational levels. - Familiarity with guidance and coaching models related to adult basic skills (literacy, writing, and digital skills) in other countries and their application to our own activities. - Models of recognizing and acknowledging informal learning in other countries and the development of the Valo-Valmennus model. - Individualized, employment-oriented study paths and comprehensive support. In addition to the above-mentioned professional themes, Valo-Valmennusyhdistys had recognized the need to develop the staff's international competencies and language skills, particularly from an interactive perspective.

Background

The previous Erasmus+ mobility projects of Valo-Valmennusyhdistys have demonstrated that international mobility periods are beneficial for the comprehensive professional development of participants. According to our experience, the participants have developed their multicultural skills, language proficiency, and gained new perspectives on their work through exposure to an international context. The objectives related to language and cultural awareness support both high-quality client work and broad organizational development initiatives. Moreover, the good practices learned during these mobilities have been successfully integrated into the guidance work conducted within the organization. As a result of the mobility periods, the network of international partnerships has been expanded in a high-quality manner. On-site visits to partner organizations and the exchange of relevant ideas during the mobility periods have led to opportunities for continued collaboration, such as joint development projects. By continuing the Job Shadowing staff mobilities, we aim to respond to the specific needs of the staff regarding continuous learning. Staff mobilities is one of the key forms of the strategic development of international cooperation.
