Objectives

Valo-Valmennusyhdistys works supporting young people in vulnerable life situations towards wellbeing, participation, education and employment. We develop our work and operations continuously. Adopting youth work methods and models developed elsewhere brings fresh perspectives. Learning from international partners' diverse contexts, society, and culture reveals opportunities and development needs. The consortium includes interesting youth work organisations, fostering knowledge exchange and understanding. Direct reflection among youth workers during mobility benefits both organizations. The project also focuses on enhancing multicultural competence and recognizing different attitudes. The goal is to broaden and deepen the organization's understanding of European diversity through shared experiences and learning. The mobility project aims for mutual learning, where Valo-Valmennusyhdistys' employees learn from European partners, and vice versa. While the concept of Nuorisotakuutalo (Youth Guarantee House) was modeled on international principles in autumn 2019, its development continues, and sharing the concept's knowledge with Europe is desired and needed. Nuorisotakuutalo offers a framework for youth work through informal education methods, aiming to empower young adults under 29, building their societal participation, meaningful life, and paths towards education or employment. Another crucial model is Valo-valmennus, recognizing skills acquired in non-formal environments, making them recognized for credits or qualifications. Presenting and training these models are interesting export products for Valo-Valmennusyhdistys in Europe. In addition to developing and implementing the mentioned models, the mobility project has equally important objectives, focusing on the competence development of Valo-Valmennusyhdistys' youth workers and the organization, as well as disseminating the results of the mobility periods: - Gaining new perspectives for working with the most vulnerable youth and supporting their participation - Addressing the challenge of reaching and engaging marginalized youth through mobile youth work, drawing from partner organizations' successful practices to be applied by Valo-Valmennusyhdistys. - Exploring new approaches for integrating non-formal learning environments with youth work in Finland - Familiarizing with partners' intriguing models, learning from them, and adopting relevant parts in Valo-Valmennusyhdistys' and Silta-Valmennusyhdistys' operations. - Learning from the partrner organizations' work and jointly reflecting on the lessons learned to deepen mutual understanding - Producing vlogs about the mobility periods.
