The Académie de Nancy-Metz has a unique geographical location as it has three border countries, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg: the flows of border workers are very important and they will remain so if the inhabitants of Lorraine can demonstrate sufficient language skills. MIRABEEL meets the objectives and priorities mentioned in the academic project in terms of language learning: that is to say allowing every pupil to learn a foreign language from the moment they start school, fostering the implementation of innovative and successful educational plans, making the international policy of the schools a lever of collective ambition and developing the teaching of non-linguistic subjects in foreign languages. In practical terms, it consists in developing linguistic and cultural skills of teachers in the primary and secondary education thanks to the European mobility, as well as discovering innovative language teaching methods, learning about new tools, new time schedule, different system of assessment, and different education organization in other European school systems.
This ERASMUS + consortium for the mobility of school education staff is undertaken by the DAREIC (District Organization for European and International relations and cooperation) and the GIP (Public interest grouping) " long-life learning " of the Académie de Nancy-Metz (regional education authority). It meets one of the missions of the DAREIC, which is fostering European and international mobility of the regional education authority.
