The initial projects were diverse but all focused on learning, discovery and communication. The objectives of the Physics and Chemistry colleague were to learn about the methods and practices of a school at the heart of European exchanges, and to develop communication skills to facilitate cooperation with future European partners. The English and Spanish teachers wanted to follow courses, work on the cultural aspect in order to revitalise their teaching sequences, discover another school system and another culture and then reinvest their knowledge with their pupils. One of the Spanish teachers wanted to take English classes and improve her communication skills (the language of choice for communication in European projects). Each teacher wished to meet other teachers, to confront different visions of teaching, to think differently, to develop their practices towards European practices and to develop communication skills in order to facilitate cooperation with future European partners.
This project started thanks to the Arc en Ciel primary school in Crevin which was a source of inspiration; indeed, colleagues from this school have been involved in various Erasmus projects for many years and invited the Simone Veil college which opened in 2014 to collaborate in an Erasmus KA2 project from 2017. Then, at the end of 2019, several colleagues from different subjects (PE, Physics & Chemistry, English and Spanish) got together to talk about this project to enter into an Erasmus+ mobility, a big door on lots of possibilities in Europe was opening to us. Motivated, supported by our head teacher and our administrator, a project took shape under the name "En Europe Simone! Our objectives, to open up to Europe, to train, to progress in terms of language skills, to develop communication, to meet European partners in order to discover their teaching practices and to encourage the opening up of new projects for the staff and pupils, were clearly defined. All that remained was to set up our mobility projects.
