During the conception of the project in 2020, we asked professionals their current professional needs. 4 priority themes emerged: - Deepening innovative methods and/or tools to prevent school dropout - Looking for pedagogical support for young people with "dys-" disorders, attention disorders, etc. - Preventing violence in order to improve the school climate - Learning through digital tools (for young people, teachers and school educators) These themes have become our guidelines in the design of the project and the realization of our activities. Other points of reference guided us in the realization of our activities. Specific objectives were set before the project in order to meet the expectations of the Foundation's employees, such as : - Discovering innovative systems, methods and tools developed by or with our European partners - Integrating the innovative practices observed in the daily life of professionals - Nourishing the Foundation's reflections and guide its strategic choices by creating bridges between the FAA's professions in charge of educational innovation, teachers, educators, development managers, etc.
For several years now, the Fondation d'Apprentis d'Auteuil (FAA) has been welcoming young people who are experiencing difficulties in the regular school system. Whatever their background and abilities, the main objective is to enable them to (re)find the desire to learn. In 2016, the French national education system noted that more than 100,000 young people left the school system prematurely without any qualification or diploma. There are many reasons why young people drop out of school and their backgrounds vary a lot from one another (e.g. different socio-economic situations, multiple learning difficulties (dysfunctional disorders, etc.), making it increasingly difficult to (re)mobilize, support and look after these young people. Looking at this challenge of adaptability of practices among school professionals, the employees of the FAA and its Filliales gathered in Consortiumn, have expressed the need to meet with European partners and to exchange on their practices, in order to fight against school dropout.
