Objectives

The school wanted to strengthen the language skills of its staff in English and Spanish so that they could be more comfortable in the exercise of their missions (ETLV), acquire a better level in English and Spanish in order to use these languages in their own subjects to develop the offer of non-linguistic teaching but also to undertake Erasmus projects with groups of students. . The project consisted in expanding the number of partnerships (in addition to the exchanges already present in high school) and offering students a greater number of opportunities for linguistic immersion. The development of professional skills was also an objective. This project was in keeping with the school project in 2020, and still today with the new 2022-2025 version with two major axes: 1 - Fight against social determinisms by moving towards a high school that promotes ambition, excellence and help to face academic difficulties. 2 - Towards an emancipating high school: an ambitious civic journey linked to learning and an axis 3 - Improve the image of the institution which is just as important since the commitment of the school in the Erasmus program contributes to it.

Background

Philippe Lamour High School applied for this KA1 project during the 2020 campaign. Its implementation is now complete. At the origin of this project, the Philippe Lamour high school wanted to confirm its European development project by setting up first the training of its staff. Indeed, the grant application for training purposes for its staff aimed on the one hand to improve the level of language in English and Spanish for all teachers wishing to use a foreign language in their courses (DNL) or who are required to use them in the new courses in technological baccalaureate classes (ETLV). The need for training was also expressed by staff members wishing to get involved in European projects with pupils in English or Spanish, but who needed to improve their skills in languages. In addition to these different needs, several staff members want to be more efficient in teaching a changing audience, with the help of thematic training and discoveries of interesting and inspiring practices in other European countries. The framework of the Erasmus programmes seemed the most appropriate to meet our objectives.
