Objectives

The first objective with the implementation of this project was to develop the language skills of the staff in order to set up new projects and to be more and more numerous to participate in already existing projects and including foreign partners. The idea was to make them experience these types of mobility in order to make them even more aware of the possibilities offered, to establish contacts during these mobilities in order to subsequently develop eTwinning projects and European mobility projects. The second objective was to strengthen the professional, disciplinary and digital skills of staff. Indeed, the participants in the mobilities were eager to discuss teaching techniques and the use of a modern foreign language within the courses and in their professional daily life. Meeting foreign counterparts was the perfect opportunity to learn new ways of teaching and to innovate in their educational methods.

Background

The project of our school Saint-Martin du Val d'Erdre revolves around the following three axes: digital development, sustainable development and international openness. The whole school is committed to engaging in an "International Establishment" labeling process, which would make it possible to gain visibility, by being associated with the idea of mobility, openness to Europe and the world. However, due to its location in a rural area, the establishment is faced with two main challenges: developing and structuring the internationalization of the establishment to strengthen its European dimension but also to develop the skills of learners and staff. It is important for an establishment like ours to make learners aware of international openness. For this, we need competent staff who are at ease in foreign languages. The candidacy for this project was therefore fully integrated into this vision of international openness, possible thanks to the investment and training of motivated and competent staff. It was, moreover, subsequently accompanied by an application for accreditation which was also accepted one year ago.
