We wanted to discover new pedagogies through meetings with other European teachers in order to improve our own pedagogies ourselves. Exchanges between peers during mobility are very enriching. Thanks to this we can improve ourselves and offer our students different, more original, and sometimes more positive implementations. We also wanted to improve our skills on specific objectives such as the English language, sustainable development, digital means, school inclusion or knowledge of European institutions. Improving in these different areas has enabled us to respond to the constant changes of our students and their families. We were better equipped to address, teach, promote important topics such as language learning, digital development, the feeling of belonging to Europe or even global warming and problems related to the environment.
Our school applied for the ERASMUS project for many reasons. We discovered the program thanks to colleagues already involved in projects. First of all, we wanted to better train the teaching team, teachers and non-teaching staff in the fields chosen by COPIL when writing the project, on the 4 objectives with competent bodies. Secondly, the project also made it possible to meet other teachers and learn from them. During the mobility we met many teachers from different European countries and we were able to discuss with them their learning methods as well as their pedagogy. We have also, thanks to these meetings, discovered the other educational systems. This project allowed the teaching team to culturally discover European cities and countries. It was necessary for everyone to understand the importance of a united Europe, accepting the other and the difference. Finally, we wanted to offer quality pedagogy to our students thanks to better trained teachers and thus improve school levels.
