We wanted to get concrete ideas on how to develop students' autonomy in the classroom and how to train teachers in other ways. We also wanted to initiate a “culture” of European mobility in the academy by making Erasmus and the benefits of mobility known and obtaining teaching “material” for use in teacher training. Finally, since the training of staff has been completely rethought at national and academic level with the creation of the EAFC (Academic Schools of Continuing Education), we hoped to be able to give the EAFC of the Academy of Poitiers a dimension of European openness.
The Poitiers Academy wishes to develop a European and international openness to managers (inspectors, heads of schools, trainers) so that they in turn can promote mobility among teachers and, finally, students. The Academy faces several educational challenges, one of which is to increase students' ambition for higher education, both general and vocational. To achieve this, a number of skills need to be strengthened, including autonomy and initiative. The objective of the project is therefore twofold: - Promote Erasmus mobility as a learning experience, particularly in terms of transversal competences - to discover in Europe training and teaching methods that promote the autonomy of pupils and thus contribute to their ambition. All mobility arrangements were inter-category in order to develop mutual knowledge of the functions of the various staff in charge of the academy.
