Objectives

The implementation of this project aimed to: - Strengthen the network of schools and establishments in the Hauts de Seine territory involved in the implementation of the CLIL system and the DNL to guarantee the continuity of the student's career. - Strengthen first and second degree school teachers’ English language skills - Help teachers achieve - and even exceed - the B2 level of the CEFRL in oral comprehension and communication. - Introduce frameworks pertaining to project management, CLIL and to pilots/project leaders, trainers and teachers - Foster inter-degree collaboration around the teaching of modern languages, especially English - Promote European and international openness to develop a European identity at all levels of the project, both among teachers, trainers and pilots, as well as among students. - Stimulate the use of the eTwinning tool to promote European collaboration and partnership. - Encourage schools to open themselves to the world through the EUROSCOL label - Create a learning community around CLIL teaching and non-linguistic discipline

Background

The objective of this school mobility project was to develop the network of schools offering increased exposure to English through progressive joint teaching in English and French from kindergarten to high school, by placing it in a continuum of training and professional development and by promoting innovative teaching approaches of the teaching of foreign languages and CLIL. The choice of a multi-category and inter-degree consortium (academic and departmental pilots, 1st and 2nd degree trainers, school teachers (cycles 1 to 3), middle school teachers (cycle 3 and 4) – English teachers or teachers of a non-linguistic discipline) allowed us to mobilize all the trades to strengthen the territorial dynamics around a common project. The aim was to help teachers improve their English by immersing themselves in English-speaking countries and to train them in English in the CLIL approach. Having easy access to other European countries helped increase the skills of teachers for the benefit of the students. For executives, mobility in Madrid allowed them to benefit from a 10 year expertise on behalf of an educational community in bilingual education and to re-examine their program management in order to improve it. The goal was to unite the participants around a concerted plan of action to guarantee the continuity of the student's journey.
