The implementation of this project aimed at building the confidence of some teachers who wanted to move forward professionally and implement new activities with their classes. Without appropriate training, this is not always easy. The teachers who participated in the structured language training courses greatly appreciated the activities offered and seemed motivated to continue with their efforts. It is always important to reassure ourselves, to take stock of our professional skills and the opportunities available. Sometimes we ourselves are hesitant when faced with students, some fear that we are not up to the task of teaching a new subject or simply in a different way. This project, with the three mobilities obtained, has provided a good basis for work and, above all, for professional development, which we intend to share with the educational community of our school.
Our school applied for this project in order to improve staff skills. The three mobilities obtained were carried out by teachers of three different disciplines: ST2S (Science and Technology of Health and Social Work), BPH (Human Biology and Physiopathology) and English. We want to improve the quality of our teaching for the sake of the students, of course, but also to improve our professional and human skills. This is why two teachers have followed a two-week language course in Dublin and the third one has found solutions to help pupils and students in difficult situations in the school environment but also in their daily life. Our school project insists on the importance of international openness but also on well-being at school. These training courses have therefore fully contributed to providing solutions and strengthening the resources available to achieve the objectives set out in our PDE. We have several classes in the technological series for which the ETLV requires teachers who are competent in English. This is sometimes a problem and we are working to overcome these difficulties through these courses.
