Objectives

This project aimed to promote the study of modern languages and technological disciplines taught in English in the Grenoble Academy in an academic project entitled "TECHNOLOGICAL TEACHING IN LIVING LANGUAGE PLUS" bringing together actors from the technological high school, teachers and inspectors . The project brought together 26 high schools, as well as national education executives such as inspectors, and members of the steering team of this consortium. The project is rooted in the language learning development policy and meets defined needs: - linguistics: progress in languages and validate additional certifications to teach in DNL, - didactics: improve the quality of the expertise and the authenticity of the teaching of a non-linguistic subject in English - organizational: observe practices in Europe concerning the learning of languages and in languages and the methods of organizing this teaching. The objective of this international mobility project was twofold: first, it was to help reinforce the language level of technological education teachers, to give them a European culture of language teaching and in languages but above all to allow all actors to have a common academic culture on the approach to teaching a technological discipline in a modern foreign language, both in training and teaching techniques and in the tools and media used for training and evaluation. The ultimate goal was to globally improve the quality of the ETLV so that ultimately the students would be better trained. In the longer term, it is a question of developing exchanges with European partners engaged in the same project, of considering other mobility projects which would concern staff and learners, at the level of the establishments, and possibly at the level of pool, a department and the academy to pool tools and enrich practices.

Background

ETLV+ is part of the reform of the baccalaureate which extended the ETLV to all technological series. This teaching requires the mobilization of many teachers of technological disciplines, leading to great training needs. It also emerged the need for in-depth reflection on the implementation of the ETLV, on effective and innovative didactic approaches, usable in the academy. To do this, the networking of the participants made it possible to bring a cohesion favorable to the exchange, to the creation of new resources. ETLV+ is also part of the National Language Plan which aims to develop teaching in LV, promote the international openness of EPLEs, certify teachers to enhance their skills, and advocates more teacher immersion and increased mobility. . It revealed a need to compare the implementation of this type of education in the EU and to draw inspiration from good European practice. European mobility thus brings a more ambitious dimension rooted in the reality of language teaching in the EU and also strengthens the internationalization of EPLE.
