Objectives

- acquire skills to facilitate the integration of students by increasing their level of qualification in order to prepare them as graduates for the labour market of tomorrow - promote adaptation to the specificity of regional, national, European and international economic contexts. These new skills acquired abroad can also be a decisive asset in enabling them to enter the world of work more easily. - mastering a foreign language and improving intercultural awareness - express individual commitment and a spirit of openness and tolerance - fight against school drop-out (the rates of absenteeism and resignation from the vocational training section of the high school have increased significantly). In order to reverse this upward trend, the Lycée Jules Fil had to restore its dynamism and attractiveness by providing students with training based on the observation of good European practices.

Background

Within the framework of the school's project, the development plan for international relations is a strong axis which should allow it to reinforce its influence and attractiveness. The school is committed to democratising cultural openness by encouraging, as far as possible, the possibility for all students to travel to Europe and discover other cultures in the global sense of the term. It is also a question of preparing young people from rather disadvantaged backgrounds, who mainly make up the school's student population, to approach their professional future with more ambition by accompanying them in the development of their personal project within an environment that is open to business and to Europe through geographical mobility over long distances. The school, by making mobility possible through internships within the European Community, favours the future integration on the labour market of pupils of all origins who will become, in a significant proportion, students.
