In order to ensure a solid training of our participants whose capacities are modest, we have alternated between situations involving in specific knowledge and interdisciplinary assets. We have also set up professional communication and involvement situations comparable to those encountered during mobility in European companies to improve confidence, highlight difficulties and provide individual responses. We have also privileged individualized approaches to enable each participant to become aware of his weaknesses and strengths and thus progress and build a project for himself by gaining confidence and improving skills. We have also developed European citizenship culture and cultural openness through the implementation of international week and exhibitions as part of the European journey. Our aim was not only to train efficient technicians but also to train European citizens who could engage in mobility and immersion projects successfully, facilitating professional integration and further studies.
We have been involved in this project since 2007. We applied following an approach of institutional and educational continuity. The linguistic, cultural and professional experiences as well as the various forms of mobility have proved that more than 90 percent of participants obtain their diploma and engage in further studies. Our pedagogical structure, involving two sectors (building and topography) reinforces the cultural and civic school life through various events: international week, language and citizenship workshops in collaboration with Jean Monnet Association. This project has also an inclusive function for several participants having behavioural and school vulnerabilities. The collaborative and interdisciplinary work carried out within the frame work of training allows us to build a functional teaching that promotes autonomy, adaptability, knowledge and know-how transfer in various fields of learning, accomplishment of tasks, team work, project culture and self-confidence.
