Objectives

We want these students, most of them JAMO, to gain confidence through these European mobility opportunities. Indeed, these students are little or not mobile and most have never crossed the borders of their department or region, for cultural, financial and social reasons. These mobilities are an opportunity for them to open up to others, to become aware of the European entity and to feel part of the supra-European entity. On the other hand, this mobility allows them to gain self-confidence and to feel more capable of continuing their studies in higher education, to obtain better results in the Bac Pro both in LV and in other subjects and to avoid possible school dropouts which are very frequent in our establishment. Indeed, due to its geographical location and due to the social, cultural and geographical origins of the students, our high school acts as a sector high school and many learners have not really chosen the trade or sales sector but are registered in our establishment. by pure geographical choice which allows families to limit the costs incurred by schooling in a geographically distant high school.

Background

We applied for this project in order to be able to allow students from the 1st grade of profesional buisiness baccalaureate from Jean-françois Cail high school in Chef-Boutonne, located in a rural and small-sized environment, to carry out a 4-week internship in a company in Spain, Ireland and Romania. The objective is to allow JAMO students to go on mobility without financial barrier thanks to the Erasmus scholarships, aid from the New Aquitaine region as well as the funds of the high school, covering all the costs incurred by European mobility. Even if, through our projects (language assistant, meeting with natives, e-twinning projects), and the help of technologies, our students open up to Europe, they in no way replace an authentic moment of life in contact with European citizens of another country, in everyday life and in the professional environment. This project gives them a great open-mindedness and a much better self-esteem.
