Our first goal is to make our VET students overcome their breaks and develop their self-confidence, allowing them to serenely embrace a SMP mobilty in Europe in a near future, which is so beneficial for their employability and their university studies. This program is therefore designed for last year secondary vocational and technical students. It is adviced as an optional short term vocational practice in a European firm and made in priority for students who have less mobilities opportunities. As a school under the Ministry of Agriculture, our second goal is to enforce the agricultural culture of our students through a mobilty in Europe. Our long term partner, Znojmo vocational highschool in Czech Republic is ideal. Indeed 4/5 of our nowadays students are attending studies more focused on food-processing, services to people and sciences, beyond agronomy. As a multivocational school, our partner offers a large scale of placements through their professional network, taking precisely into considerations aims and orientation wishes of our individuals partcipants.
Our VET students often doubt about their ability to cope abroad, away from their native southwestern France. A large part of our public is deeply rooted in their local and rural community (rugby players, hunters, horseriders, active members of their village festivities...) and tend to have poor opportunities to move abroad, apart from the Spanish border, 1h15 away from Auch. Therefore, very few HND students embrace a SMP, eventhough our school is an active member of Erasmip Midi Pyrénées consortium from its very start and give access to a large panel of quality European mobilities. This is why it is crucial for us to develop an optional program in our secondary curriculum, in order to overcome their breaks and closely accompany them in broadening their European horizon andreinforce their employability.
