The vocational education and training consortia are the backbone of the regional education authority’s European strategy. The implementation of our projects integrates the transversal dimension inherent in a European mobility project. Our consortia aim to promote and increase the mobility of vocational school students and staff. It is a question of perpetuating and increasing mobility opportunities with foreign partners, companies, and schools, whilst, at the same time, allowing an increased valorisation of periods of mobility, by the pooling of good practice, and better mobility engineering. This process has been abruptly slowed down this year. Our VET consortia have been deeply impacted by Covid-19, as have our higher education consortia and our KA2 partnerships for which we have had to reorganize the schedule on two occasions. The constraints and uncertainties linked to the pandemic did not allow us to carry out all the planned mobilities. However, we are proud to have succeeded in sending 211 young people on mobility, i.e. 46% of the total expected.
Both DRAREIC and GIP-FIPAG coordinate the regional education authority’s activities concerning the international relations of its schools. To this end, DRAREIC maintains close links with organizations dealing with international cooperation and maintains permanent staff to promote the European relations of our vocational schools, encourage exchanges and partnerships, provide advice, expertise, and training, and develop international opportunities for our students, teachers, and senior staff. Our participation in different consortia is therefore fully justified. DRAREIC also carries out the management of files relating to the regional education authority’s public interest group, which oversees the administrative and financial aspects. Since 2013, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional education authority has set up a concrete strategy aiming at developing learner and staff mobility, as well as continuous professional development through Erasmus +. We have proved our ability to conduct large-scale European projects, whose renewal every year highlights their durability.
